Moving Time!

What a first year we've had! On November 15th we celebrated our 1st Anniversary together. We went wine tasting in Temecula, CA, and then went for a fancy dinner at a restaurant right on the water in La Jolla. It was, by far, the nicest restaurant we've ever been to! Shortly after that, we left for the midwest to spend Thanksgiving in O'fallon, Illinois with Brian's family and friends. We had such a good time! Now that we're back in San Diego, thus begins moving season! We received our orders right before we left, and we plan to be in Japan by the new year! A lot is going to happen in the next two weeks-we have three moves to set up for, and then we head back to Annapolis to spend Christmas with my (Allison's) family. From there, we will head back to San Diego for a few days, then hopefully make a stop off in Hawaii for a few days, then off to Atsugi. Should be an interesting next few weeks! Once we have an address or whatnot, we will make sure to post them and keep in touch!

Trip to Arizona

Brian and I just got back from a trip to the Grand Canyon-we are trying to get our fill of Americana before we move to Japan! We got there Saturday morning, set up camp, and hiked the Rim Trail during the day to get a feel of the situation for the next day. We hung around the Canyon rim to check out the sunset, then hightailed it back to camp to start the fire and get warm! I made hobo packs for the first time ever, and they turned out well! After camping out Saturday night (it was cooooold) we got up early on Sunday and hiked down the Bright Angel Trail for about 3 miles, about 2,000 feet down. Then we had to turn around and come back up! We rocked the trail, then took it easy for the rest of the day, and settled down for another cold evening. Monday morning we drove back to San Diego, and the adventure was over. We hope to be able to see Yosemite or Sequoia before we leave for Japan in January.

Hello!

Hey All!

Brian and I decided we would like to create a blog so everyone can read and see what we've been up to since we got married. This will be especially helpful when we go to Japan, as keeping in touch may be a little bit harder than it is now! =) Please check back often, as I (Allison) will try to update this frequently, because I have a bit more free time right now than Brian.
